3-2-1! 3 Tips, 2 Actions and 1 Inspirational Thought for Managing Burnout

Updated: Jan 24, 2023

What helps you #manage your burnout?

Here are 3 #tips to move Beyond Burnout, 2 #actions for the next week and 1 #inspirational thought…just because! Enjoy.

>> Here are my 3 top tips to move BEYOND BURNOUT

1. MANAGING YOUR ENERGY

On-going management of both our PHYSICAL and LIFE-FORCE energy levels is a critical part of keeping us out of burnout. A big component of this is handling stress in our lives. ‘Sometimes stress’ can be expected but ‘constant chronic stress’ is a direct line to burnout and something to look out for. The first step...noticing where your stress is coming from.

2. FOCUSSING ON WHAT LIGHTS YOU UP

- What do you dream of achieving?

- What’s still on your bucket list?

- What keeps you bursting with excitement?

These are all great questions to ask as they connect you to what brings value and purpose in life. It is through this connection we feel a state of FLOW, the opposite feeling to the tightness of burnout.

3. BUILDING YOUR DREAM TEAM

Who you have around you - YOUR RELATIONSHIPS - matter. Having the right team of people around to support you, to provide inspiration or even to leave you alone when you need can become the critical component keeping you out of the burnout spiral and into balance, harmony and connection.

>> Here are 2 actions to try over the next week. (Tip - why not schedule now!)

1. SCHEDULING SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO – What do you have coming up that you’re REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO?

It can be a holiday or break, a new experience, a hobby, time with certain people, an outing or adventure….the sky is your limit!

Having a FORWARD FLOWING FOCUS can make your everyday just that little bit more enjoyable.

2. SPENDING TIME IN AN ENERGY POSITIVE SITUATION – Energy positive just means that it’s a situation and with people who leave you with MORE ENERGY than when you started (opposite of draining).

WHAT and WHO does this for you? It may be time with yourself and that’s great as well!

A great habit is to schedule regular ENERGY POSITIVE RECHARGES. Ideally this would be daily, even if it’s just for a few minutes. One of the critical factors in managing burnout is moving ourselves towards an energy positive state.

>> Here is 1 thought from Charlie Chaplin that really inspires me

Six best doctors in the world….

- The sun

- Rest

- Exercise

- Diet

- Self-respect

- Friends

Stick to them at all stages of your life to enjoy a healthy life.

Well Charlie Chaplin lived to the ripe old age of 88, so he was obviously doing something right!
